Mom’s Deli

I got to photograph Mira Zelenovich better known as “Baba”. In 1978, she began her long time career at the local neighborhood new business Mom’s Deli. The Vago family (Dolores, Charlie, Carol, Ron and Denise) became her family and she has spent the last 45 years serving customers in this Italian mainstay with her broken Serbian accent. Rarely missing any days, today at 97 she is recovering from a broken hip and she is excited to return serving her longtime customers. She enjoys sharing the latest fashion trends with her much younger co-workers.
